The Make a Difference Experience.

Each of us has the opportunity to make a positive impact on the world. Through our giving, we can change our communities, connect our families, and experience personal growth. Giving doesn’t need to be something we do someday in the future, it’s a way of life that we can start today.

The Make a Difference Experience is an excellent first step in identifying the causes you care most about as well as the giving strengths you bring. Click the link below to get started on your giving journey!

Giving changes the hearts and minds of those who give.

Connecting families through giving.

Many of us worry about the impact that financial wealth could have on our children. Will it be a blessing or a curse? In working with many families to prepare the next generation, we’ve found that giving experiences could be the most effective way to teach and prepare all generations. Through this innovative and fun process, your family will find connection, a vision for the future, financial understanding, and engage your community in a meaningful way.

Connect.

Connect with causes you care most about. Connect with your giving strengths. Connect with each other and your community as you prepare to make a positive impact. In the Connect phase you will develop your giving profile and roadmap.

Analyze.

With causes selected, it’s time to find and analyze organizations that align with your vision and values. Viewing giving not as a donation, but as an investment, will reveal financial principles as you seek long term sustainability and measured impact.

Invest.

With the allocation of resources, financial, intellectual, relationships, and time, you will see the difference you’re able to make in the causes you care most about.

Why Give?

What comes to mind when you think about a “philanthropist?” For most, we conjure images of really rich people like Warren Buffet or Bill Gates. We tend to think of large sums of money, tax deductions, and names on buildings. We’ve heard many say that they “will become a philanthropist when…” It’s some far off destination once they have financial security. However, what if philanthropy has nothing to do with money? If you dig into the origin of the word philanthropy, it’s comprised of two greek words, philos, which translates to love, and anthropos, which translates to humankind. There’s no mention of money, tax deductions, or names on buildings; a philanthropist is simply someone that loves or cares for others.

Have you ever given to someone or volunteered for an event with the intention to really help someone out, only to find out that you were the one that was impacted? Have you noticed that when you give you often feel as though you’re becoming a better person? Done correctly, giving has the power to change the hearts and minds of those who give.

With these principles in mind, we invite you to participate in the Make a Difference Experience.
